VALE ROYAL TWINNING FESTIVAL 2001

There was a whole series of events over the weekend of the visit, here is a selection of photos of some of them...

Barn Dance Hartford Twinning Committee organised the first event which was a Barn Dance, held in Hartford High School's Hall. The enjoyment was enhanced by a significant number of the participants being unable to understand the caller... this is in addition to the usual number who are incapable of following the instructions anyway!
On Saturday Vale Royal Borough Council arranged a formal lunch for the visitors and their hosts at The Portal Golf Club, Tarporley... Lunch
Presentation After the lunch, Jean-Marie Barberon, President of the Mornant Twinning Committee, presented Mrs Rita Hollens, Chairman of Hartford Parish Council, with a relief map of Southern France - showing Mornant in its geographical context.
On a nice Saturday evening, everyone went to Castle Park at Frodsham and enjoyed an excellent open air production of "The Merchant of Venice" by Heartbreak Productions, with a picnic supper in the interval. Merchant of Venice
Presentation On Sunday, the senior representatives of the guest Councils were presented with framed photos of Vale Royal Abbey, by the Mayor of Vale Royal.
